Gov. Kemp Signed HB 606, adding GISA as an Accreditor

May 6, 2021

Atlanta, GA – Governor Kemp signed HB 606, which adds Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) to the list of approved accrediting agencies in Georgia. HB 606 was sponsored in the House by Representative Randy Nix (R – 69th District, LaGrange) and in the Senate by Senator Matt Brass (R – 28th District, Newnan).

Since 1986, GISA has certified the educational integrity of its member schools, taking great pride in providing exceptional educational opportunities for children. GISA is focused on quality and continuous school improvement in the independent school environment. GISA developed Accreditation Standards in partnership with Cognia to ensure educational excellence in member schools as the accreditation process becomes an extension of the GISA mission.

We look forward to working with our current and new member schools to fulfill GISA’s vision of Growing better independent schools for a better Georgia.
