GISA Teachers of the Year

Georgia Independent School Association is preparing for the 2023 Annual Teachers of the Year Awards Program. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to reward examples of outstanding teaching in your school.

NOMINATION INFO will be distributed in February 2023.

To make Nominations, please observe the following requirements:

1. You may nominate up to three (3) candidates: one from Lower School (K-5th); one from Middle School (6th-8th); and one from Upper School (9th-12th).

2. Each nominee must be a full-time classroom teacher and teach in a GISA school.

3. Nominees must have taught a total of five (5) years (not necessarily limited to a GISA school or the same GISA school).

For each Nominee, you must submit a package of the following:

A. “Nominee Biographical Data Sheet” for each nominated teacher (to be completed by the nominee). Attach a photograph of the nominee to the Biographical Data Sheet.

B. Letter of Recommendation from the Head of School or Division Head.

C. Letter of Recommendation from one other person connected with the school.

D. Each nominee must include an essay of no more than 300 words on the topic: “What Teaching Means to Me”
